Plone makes it very easy to download files: go to the appropriate folder, select its contents or view tab, select the desired file. Downloading will begin. Unfortunately, Plone does not provide a similar mechanism for (structured) text documents.

(Structured) text documents can be brought to your own computer using:

• Copy & Paste. IE, view the document so that it appears on your screen, drag your pointing device over the text, copy, paste into your word processor.
• Save from your browser. IE, view the document so that it appears on your screen, select File:Save from your browser's menubar. (Saving as plain text may be simpler, but saving as html or rich text may retain better formating. A lot of unwanted html is saved because of Plone's navigation display, calendar display, and alike.)

These are also the ways to collect comments for editing.
